I was working on a restore issue (filename ?.html) with a customer, and tried to login to the Veeam 6.1 FLR using root and the Veeam Backup servername_r, and wasn’t a able to get in. A lot of people don’t realize that you can set the password on the FLR appliance in the Manage Credentials screen, and once you set that you can use SCP/SFTP or rsync/tar over SSH to perform restores. You don’t even have to configure the “Enable FTP” option for that to work.

When I log onto the FLR appliance, I can ssh (and scp files) to the VM using the same root credentials just fine. I’m trying to figure out why the GUI is returning the error that it is. The VM nor the FLR appliance are logging any fail attempts when I use the GUI.
